Ceramic coating,
done in your garage.

A hard, hydrophobic layer bonded to properly prepped paint. Easier washes, real UV defense, and gloss that holds for years instead of weeks — applied at your home, with your car never leaving the driveway.

What a coating actually does

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that cures into a hard, semi-permanent layer chemically bonded to your clear coat. It is not a wax and it is not a sealant — those sit on top and wash away in weeks. A coating becomes part of the surface.

What you actually get from it:

  • Hydrophobics. Water beads and sheets off instead of sitting on the paint, so it dries cleaner and spots less.
  • UV resistance. The Inland Empire sun is what chalks out reds and blacks. A coating takes that hit instead of your clear coat.
  • Chemical resistance. Bug guts, bird droppings and sprinkler water get a barrier between them and your paint.
  • Easier washing. Contamination has less to grip, so maintenance washes take less effort and inflict fewer swirls.
  • Gloss. A coating adds depth on top of whatever the correction achieved.

And what it doesn't do

A coating is not a force field. It will not stop rock chips, it will not stop a shopping cart, and it will not fix scratches already in the paint — it seals them in. It also does not make the car self-cleaning. You still wash it, just far more easily.

Anyone promising scratch-proof paint is selling you something. Coatings resist marring and chemical etching. They do not stop physical damage, and any detailer telling you otherwise is setting up a warranty argument later.

Pricing

Three coating packages.

Ranges run sedan to large SUV or truck. Final price is confirmed at inspection.

Package Includes correction? Time Price
Wash, Clay & Ceramic No — decon and exfoliation only 4 hours $450–$550
3 Year Coating Yes — one or two step 48 hours $1,100–$1,700
5 Year Coating Yes — one or two step 48 hours $1,400–$2,000

Add-ons

  • Wheel faces coated — $50 per rim. Brake dust rinses off instead of baking on.
  • All windows coated — $250. Glass is polished first; rain sheets off the windshield at speed.
  • Five-year upgrade on the Wash, Clay & Ceramic package — from $600.

The two correction-inclusive packages cover paint, trim, and windshield and are quoted after inspection, because the correction half depends entirely on what your paint is doing.

Why correction comes first

This is the part most people get talked out of, and it is the part that decides whether the coating was worth the money.

A coating is optically clear and it locks in whatever is beneath it. Put one over swirled, hazy paint and you have sealed those defects under a hard layer for the next three to five years. The car will bead beautifully and still look dull in direct sun, because the swirls are still scattering light — now under glass.

That is why the Wash, Clay & Ceramic package is explicitly the no-correction option. It is the right call on a genuinely new car, or when you want protection on a daily driver and are not chasing perfect gloss. On anything with miles on it, correction first is the honest recommendation.

How the 48 hours works

Coating packages span two to three days. That is not two days of labour — it is labour plus cure time, and the cure is why the car stays in your closed garage.

  • Day one. Intake and photos, three-step decontamination wash, iron removal, clay bar exfoliation, then paint depth readings under inspection lighting.
  • Day one to two. Machine polishing in stages — one step or two depending on the package and what the readings allow.
  • Day two. Panel wipe, then coating applied to paint, trim and windshield in the closed garage.
  • Overnight. Initial cure, door down. The car must stay dry and untouched.
  • Handover. We walk the finish with you and go through aftercare.

Your garage is the controlled space. Door down, our own lighting, filtration and power. What a coating needs is clean, dust-settled and temperature-stable air — not a commercial building. We will not apply one outdoors or in wind, and we will say so on the day if conditions aren't right.

Aftercare, and what the warranty assumes

Coatings carry multi-year warranties, and every one of them assumes the car is maintained. A coated car run through an automatic tunnel wash every week will not reach its rated life — the brushes inflict exactly the marring the coating was bought to avoid.

  • Wait seven days before the first wash.
  • Two-bucket hand wash with a pH-neutral soap, or a touchless setup.
  • No automatic tunnel washes, ever.
  • Rinse off bird droppings and sprinkler spots promptly — the coating buys you time, not immunity.
  • Annual inspection to keep the warranty intact and top up where needed.

Common questions

Is a five-year coating worth double a three-year?

It depends how long you are keeping the car. If you are selling in two years, the three-year package is the sensible spend. If it's a keeper and it lives outside, the five-year is better value per year and a stronger sacrificial layer.

Can you coat a brand new car straight from the dealer?

Usually, and it is the ideal time — but not without inspection. Transport film, dealer prep and lot washing put swirls into new paint more often than people expect. We measure and look before we decide whether a light polish is needed first.

What if I already have a coating on the car?

An existing coating has to come off before a new one goes on, which normally means machine polishing it away. Tell us at booking so it's in the quote rather than a surprise on the day.
